In "Columbo And The Murder Of A Rock Star," when Columbo gets in his car to re-create
theway the killer faked his alibi with the automated speeding ticket, Columbo says:
"Y'know, in all the years I had this car, this is the first time I took the top down."
Well,...not quite true. Columbo is typically adding a bit of drama to the occasion.
But although Columbo's car was a convertible, it was a very rare occasion when he took
the top down. Here are the only scenes where we saw Columbo's car going topless:
Last Salute To The Commodore:
With Bruce Kirby, Robert Vaughn, and "Mac" (driving)
Lady In Waiting:
Getting a burger with Leslie Nielsen at a drive-up joint
The Most Dangerous Match:
Taking the killer for a ride
Columbo And The Murder Of A Rock Star:
When Columbo gets in his car to re-create the way the killer faked his alibi
Short Fuse:
With Roddy McDowall and William Windom in back (very brief shot!)
Columbo And The Murder Of A Rock Star:
Starting test-drive; and later, a top-down victory drive
